Founded more than 110 years ago, Sinai Temple of Michigan City is a Reform Jewish congregation occupying a proud and distinguished Jewish presence in the Michiana Region which includes Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
Our temple welcomes Jews of all branches and ethnicities, interfaith families, people exploring Judaism, Jews by- birth, Jews by- choice, Jews of color, and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Shabbat Services are held every Friday evening except the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Stay for refreshments and socializing at our Oneg Shabbat!
During the summer we hold earlier weekly Shabbat services so members and friends can enjoy dinner out or gather at a member’s home.
We also have sunset services and potlucks outdoors in beautiful city and county parks.
Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur are all held in person and on Zoom to enable everyone’s fullest participation.
We observe Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, Passover Seder (first night), Yom Kippur, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israel Independence Day, and Shavuot.
Schedule a visit and join us.
Our congregation is an inspiring and inclusive house of community, prayer, education, dedication, volunteerism, support, love and joy.
